[ After going off the grid for virtually ten years, Danny is, admittedly, having some issues. School had never been his strong suit anyway, but paired with the fact that everyone knows who he is, it's just ...
Ugh.
He's tired of talking about his dead parents, he's tired of answering questions about what high school education is like in Nepal. He's tired of people (probably correctly) assuming his name and his money is the only reason he's here. But he has a company to take over and he needs to know at least something about business. Evidently, his struggle is apparent enough that they've assigned him a mentor. ]
C's get degrees, right?
[ He asks as he leans back, running a hand down his face. Screw math and it being a requirement for his degree. ]
Is that your life motto? Because if it is, it's terrible.
[ Being in proper med school means Stephen has far less time to do things like mentoring. But passing up the chance to have a connection to Daniel Rand? Oh, he's not stupid.
He looks to Danny at his side and lets out a soft sigh. Granted, they've been doing inverse functions for almost an hour now, but Danny seems to be the type to understand up until Stephen asks him to solve things on his own. ]
The moment you start to settle for things, you've given up.
...that being said, [ because Stephen isn't cruel ] if you can solve this last problem we'll have a thirty minute break.
I'm just ... A doer, not a thinker. My mind doesn't work this way.
[ But Stephen's compromising and Danny knows he has to do the work, so he sits forward again. He looks down at his paper and then at his notes. He chews on his pencil for a second or two then starts - hesitantly - working his way through the question. ]
